Please address inquiries to the original sender (below): Date: Sun, 09 Jan 1994 22:53:06 -0800 (PST) From: willis@scs.unr.edu (Glee Willis) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- January 9, 1994 From: Glee Willis <willis@shadow.scs.unr.edu> To: Nettrainers I send this plea to you, ironically, almost exactly two years from the date of the first appearance of Zen (January 1992). I remember, as if it were yesterday, slaving away at editing the early manuscripts for Brendan throughout the month of December 1991 and even more intensively during that Christmas vacation. That was my first useful contribution to the Net -- this great place to which so many people were introduced by reading his gentle and encouraging words in Zen. Please -- I appeal to you, as fellow users and as fellow trainers of users of the Internet -- if you can, please make contributions to the fund for Brendan, and make appeals to all the newcomers to whom you introduce the Internet to do the same. This, after all, is for so many of us what the Net is *really* all about -- helping others when they need us most. It is not yet known how long Brendan's recovery and rehabilitation will take, but it will, of course, be costly. A fund to help with the expected Brendan's medical expenses has been established. Donations can be sent to: Brendan's Friends c/o Cygnus Support One Kendall Square Cambridge, MA 02139 Brendan Kehoe, author of ZEN AND THE ART OF THE INTERNET, and a Cygnus Support engineer, was critically injured in an automobile accident in Pennsylvania on Friday, 31 December, 1993.
