I like microfiche because it doesn't tie up the computer terminals.  It's
convenient to store.  I have some doubts about all this full text CD
stuff, at least right now.  It reminds me of when computer assisted
instruction was just page turning and earned a lot of negative comments
for CAI.  If all students really had access to the CD-ROM info fine, but
most students (and libraries) don't have the hardware and you have to
think about making as many resources available to as many students as
possible.  Microfiche helps by decreasing the load on the computers and
allowing many students to work with the resources.
