Of course you are right.  One of those "well they had lots of money for
the Gulf War but nothing for education" sort of things. We should do
everything we can to ratchet up the priority of everything that will
facilitate our work with children.  It is the country'e future we're
talking about.  I know.

But there is an incredible shortfall in revenues here in California, at
least. The problem is inevitably political. Any good thing costs money
and taxes cannot be raised. Is this gridlock?

I don't know how it will all turn out, but by rights, the citizens of
this state should give us accolades along with our free accounts simply
for being courageous enough to tread into the future so we can open the
way for the children.  They are, after all, the greatest hope for the
future prosperity we all seek.
