Dear Colleagues,

    Barbara Weaver (RI) and I co chair the Committee that is attempting to
identify what library/information skills teachers need in their preparation
programs to work effectively with library media specialists and in the new
information age.  We have identified many competencies, and are looking for
states that have model programs that actually integrate the skills into their
teacher ed. classes.  If you know of a state program (we know about Kanss=as),
please drop me a line with a contact name and, if possible address or phone.
