new superintendent

The Davenport Community Schools in Davenport, Iowa, will be getting a new
superintendent November 1. He is Brad Allison, who is currently the supt. in
Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. He has also worked in schools in Wheaton, Illinois,
 Elgin, Wisconsin, and Middleton, Wisconsin. If you work in any of those
districts, what are your media departments like? We're hoping that one of those
districts or all of them had wonderful media centers at all levels. Up until
year we had full time media specialists in each elementary building. Due to
budgetary problems, a decision was made that any schools with fewer than 350
students would now have only a half-time media specialist. That affected five of
  our elementary schools. We're hoping that Dr. Allison will come and realize
that this was a terrible mistake! Last year I was full-time in a building with
320 students. This year that building has 300 students and I also serve a
building with 187 students. I am frustrated! I know I am unable to do the job
that I used to do. If any of you have worked with Dr. Allison, I would
appreciate hearing about your media departments. Thank you.
