This could be a record, folks. It has taken me *only 2 months* to get
this HIT out of my mail files and into yours....

For those whose memories do not register that far back, I posted a TARGET
asking for opinions as to the "best" travel/cultural videos (grades 7-12)
to supplement beginning language or social studies classes.

There were 3 responses, and I add them here:

The Eastman Kodak Co. (1-800-331-6839 ext.300) has produced a set of
programs entitled "Discover the World". Our World Culture teachers use
these extensively when introducing a country. Each video is approximately
30 min. in running time which is just about right for keeping student's
attention. Highly recommended!

Hi, We just got some of the Smithsonial Global Issues series and they
look excellent. They cover social issues like women's rights, child
labor, and also look at the geography and general culture. I think I can
safely recommend them. (ooops, just realized that they are the Christian
Science Monitor Global Issue Series)

I'm glad you asked. I was faced with the same dilemma about 3 years ago,
so these aren't brand new, but we love them in our upper elementary
school. They are the Traveloguer Collection and we purchased them from
Library Video Company. I think we have 18 of them. They are not too
young for high school or adult.

Thanks for the help,
