I also say kudos to the comments of Madeline Buchanan and Floyd Pentlin.
I have not seen the movie, but plan on it. I don't care about any
historical inaccuracies as Disney portrays them in the movie. I don't
expect historical fact from a Disney movie, or any Hollywood movie for
that matter. The fact of the matter is that the movie can still be used
as a good learning tool. For the most part, Disney is also a respected
name, and I would not hesitate to take children to see virtually any
Disney movie. This can not be said of other Hollywood movies without
first screening them. I also believe that facts should not be distorted
when expressing personal opinions. I think it is a shame when media
specialists or teachers express opinions solely on the basis of what
another person has written without first checking out the facts. We
should not be biased against a movie or publisher just because of a few
inaccuracies. No one is perfect!
