Here are the results (condensed) I received on recommended
converters:

First Place Winner

TView - $429 - flicker-free
Available from Educational Resources on 30 trial basis
Can be used on PC as well as MAC

Second Place Winner

TVErator - $129 - no more information given except that it is
good

Third Place Winner

AVer3 Converter - some flickering, and no price given, but
under $400.

Hope this helps others.  I think we are going to go with the
first place winner, since the company (Educational Resources)
has sent me the specs and they look really good.  Bye.
