I posted this message a few days ago: Help! We have been running Netscape 2.0 on a Power Mac 5200/75 with very few problems until recently. For the past few days, it's been crashing with a system error 11 bomb. I had recently downloaded Netscape defrost, but that didn't help. Actually the problem worsened after downloading that, so I've removed it. At the advice or our computer coordinator, I removed the Netscape Preference file, and it's been better, but still crashes several times a day. If anyone can help, please answer me directly. Thankyou. Many of you asked me to post a hit because you were having a similar problem, but I got very few suggestions. Here is what I got: >I have had the same problem on a 5200/75. Please share any info you get >with the whole list. I haven't done this yet, but I understand that the >system 7.5 should be updated. That might help. >One solution we have been given to this same problem is to upgrade to the >system 7.5.5 operating system. We did that has helped alot. I also find >that some days netscape acts up more than others, so I am wondering if it >isn't network related rather than individual systems. Good luck! >I'm having the same problem with my Mac 5300. I've improved the >performance slightly by turning off the extensions that I don't really >need, but I continue to have problems. If you come up with a solution, I >would be interested in hearing about it. > Someone suggested increasing the memory of Netscape to 8500 by going into Get Info. I did this and netscape seems to be running better, although it still occasionally crashes. Thanks for all your responses.
