Greetings - there was some discussion over the weekend re: using construction paper or wrapping paper to create a "quilt" for a Black History Month project. One of our history teachers, teaching a course in multiculturalism, handed each of his students markers and a handkerchief. The students were instructed to draw objects which would help define them as individuals. One of the students volunteered to take all the handkerchiefs home and sewed them together into a large wall hanging. Now that the semester is over, we will inherit this in the LMC as part of our display of student projects. Perhaps this idea could be adapted for Black History Month or other topics. Enjoy the weekend...for some reason CT is enjoying 50 degrees and sunny. Here's to January thaw, even when it comes in February. Julie Hulten East Haven HS East Haven CT ehavet@biomed.med.yale.edu
