Dear LM_Netter's, Our N-8 independent school draws from a very literate population--most kids are excited about books and their parents are pretty interested & knowledgeable. Because motivation and access are not generally issues, we informally (we have no formal collection development policy--the policy idea has been a little hard to sell in this community) select with that in mind. Because of their historical context, some people have asked us why we don't have the American Girls series. What arguments, pro and con, are there for having the series or not? I'd appreciate your input, particularly with attention to literary merit. Thanks. You guys always come through! Kathy -- Kathy Foulke<epgst022@llwsbe.wsbe.org> Gordon School East Providence, RI 02914
