In reference to this: <<It has come to my attention that some of our teachers have classroom collections that rival that of the library's. On top of it all, at our Book Fair, the chairperson was encouraging the teachers to load up the wish table so their classroom collections could grow (we have a very generous parent body ). Some of the books on that table were already resident in the library and will probably now just stay on the shelves forever without being checked out. How do some of you handle this problem?>> I share this same frustration. It is especially so because the collection in the Library was split this summer due to the opening of a new school. I have a teacher who tells her kids, "I have that book in the room, you can check out mine" This past week, an order for nearly a thousand dollars worth of books was placed by the reading teachers in the school. I understand their need for books but I feel very frustrated by this attitude. I too would appreciate any other view points or suggestions.
