Dear Friends: Today an acquaintance approached me and said, "You're a librarian, so you know everything or how to find it. Can you remind me of a science term that I knew for years, but have forgotten? It refers to the space that exists between any two objects, no matter how tightly packed together they might be." I appreciate his belief that librarians are somehow omniscient and would hate to disappoint him. Can anyone supply the word he has forgotten? Dennis G.
