Contemporary British Authors

We have a new English teacher who is not interested in teaching about
dead authors.  She has asked me to compile a listing of contemporary
British authors (1900 - present) for her to use with students.   I'm
really getting into it, and finding some fantastic authors.  I'd like to
include any suggestions from  LM_NETTERS, so please send along your
favorites.  Include a title or two of their books if you can.
