I came back to high school two weeks ago and found that a motion-sensor
lighting system had been installed. I expected the new lighting, but no
one had consulted with me about the motion-sensor part of it. There are 4
zones in the main library. I have to walk 30 feet from the circulation
desk to activate one of the zones. If I'm working in my office and no one
walks around the library for 20 minutes, the lights in the main reading
area
turn off. Anyone walking by might assume that the library is closed which
I
would not want. I can either turn off the lights completely (good for
showing videos or using overheads) or the motion detectors are turned on.

My office and work area are not part of this system, fortunately.

If anyone else has dealt with this issue, I'd appreciate their advice.

(I'm posting this for a friend, also an LM_NET member, who does not want
to embarrass herself or her school. I'll forward answers to her.
Thanks.)
