Elem.: Reward System

I too have tried rewards for no overdue books..Here is what I do:
If everyone returns books on time, the class gets to select a stuffed
animal or puppet from the library to visit the classroom for a week.
Additionally, that classroom's name is mentioned in morning
announcements........Even for a school whose population is relatively
responsible, last year only 2 classrooms ever succeeded in this task!
I am going to continue with this plan....Reality is that we will always
have the family who cannot get materials back on time, as well as
various other problems with returns.  No program will cure the problem
with the "hard-core" late returns.
