We have had Channel One "running" since August. About half the time it hasn't been useable for one reason or other. Mostly due to equipment failures! They have replaced the head end, but the technician tells me all of the items he gets are rebuilt, not new and they don't always work. Now the receiver is out and has been for weeks---so I tape CNN for the Classroom and play it. Problem with this is equipment again--the head end creates such feedback that the TVs have to be played very low and most of the kids can't hear it. The programming seems pretty good. The opinion of our group (students and staff) is they like CNN better. My experience hasn't been very positive, but the TV's in all the classrooms is nice and we have run our cable through the head end and that seems to be OK.
