Friends, Yet another question! In Kentucky, students are required to have a writing portfolio and one of the pieces needs to be a "personal narrative". The hallmark of the personal narrative is that it be a piece of highly descriptive writing that describes one event in a person's life. A book that is a great example is "Owl Moon" by Jane Yolen. A 2nd/3rd grade teacher in my school is looking for some additional examples of personal narratives in literature. I have already shown her a list that has been compiled that suggest some personal narratives, but she is already familiar with this list and is wondering if there is anything else. Any ideas? Here are the books that have already been suggested (besides Owl Moon): Old Slippery by Belanger Night Tree by Bunting The Wall by Bunting The Screaming Mean Machine by Cowling A Little Excitement by Harshman Rosie's Fishing Trip by Hest There's a Monster Under my Bed by Howe Thundercake by Polacco Going to the Wildcat Game by Shiver Wilford Gordon McDonald Partridge by Fox On Monday When It Rained by Keichenmeister Knots on the Counting Rope by Martin Some Birthday by Polacco The Big Green Pocketbook by Ransom and Bond Thanks for any help you can give!
