Janet (and others),

Try the word "DIRNDL" instead. I found the word "dirndl" using
"traditional German dresses" and found only one site. It was an
organization the promoted traditional German customs and stated that women
wore the traditional German dress called a "dirndl"--which was just too
close not to try.

Here are some hits that I found that you might find useful--they show
the traditional German dresses:

http://www.iaw.on.ca/~helmut/reginaho.htm This is Regina's Dirndl Stube

http://www.amishmarket.com/Clothing/Dirndls/index.html This is Dirndls

http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Lagoon/8518/ This is the Dirndl Page.

Hope this helps.

Shonda Brisco (My maiden name was Pemberton-Konemann--both German!!) :-)
