Greetings, friends! A good friend of mine has just found out that her husband will be transferred to Port Jervis within the month. They have a two year old and one due any day. My friend is worried about managing in a new city without friends and I was wondering if any of you in the area can recommend places to look for playgroups or that kind of thing. I have heard of cities that have "parent resource centers" where parenst of young children can bring their kids and meet other parents, as well as borrow parenting books, etc. She also needs to begin work on her Masters in Education soon. I received my MLS from Syracuse via their distance ed program and it was perfect for me. I am looking up similar programs for her, but would appreciate it if any of you have any feedback based on experience. I will post a HIT if there is any interest. Thanks in advance.
