We are in the very preliminary stages of designing our new middle school. We will be going from 470 7th & 8th graders to approx. 700 6th, 7th & 8th graders. I would appreciate any info from anyone who has added 6th grade to an existing 7/8 middle school. Particularly, how did it impact your collection development ? What kind of class scheduling do you use? We are totally flexible now....should I anticipate a change to more fixed schedule demands? Any info on experiences would be very helpful. Also, any suggestions for the design & construction process would always be greatly appreciated. This is my first totally new construction project....luckily I am on the district building committee. That alone is quite an education. I strongly advise getting on that committee to anyone involved in construction. Thanks.
