How many books would you recommend that a new library have per student in 1) an ideal world 2) a medium ideal world. This is a new charter Montessori school with a proposed population of 250 maximum students: K-8. This library would not function as a conventional library where you would expect students to work at tables with their selection. Each classroom will maintain their own library , in additon to the the Montessori materials there. Each classroom also has 2 computers now and I am cataloging with the remote database, Libraryworld. I am seeking input on the design as well as the content. How many shelves will obviously tie into the number of books. Space may be a limitation, but I would like to start with an ideal. I would love recommendations for good but reasonable furniture, suggestions that you see as necessities even in my library situation. I would also love to hear from those who have discovered omissions in their original plan, so I might learn from your oversights..Thanks so much...
