We have a brand new Participation in Government teacher who is trying to develop his curriculum. He is trying to engage somewhat reluctant students into discussion, debate, etc. without what we would call overwhelming success. Question: do you have a set curriculum you would be willing to share (the state doesn't help much here) or projects that have been successful in your school. Obviously he is spending a good deal of time on the elections, but needs to really get on track. He is using the Newsweek in the classroom program. We could use some fresh ideas that distinguish this class from the kinds of subjects the students concentrate on in 11th grade. Am Hist&Gov't. Thanks bunches.
