I posted this question a few years ago, but it was when I had trouble getting messages out so I thought I'd try it again. Years ago, when I worked in an old school in a poor urban school district, I had a really old version of the Dewey Decimal System, like the 8th edition or something. It had a reprint of the original introduction written by old Melville himself. It was written in his phonetic spelling, a system he advocated, but not as well as his classification system. Does anyone have a copy of that introduction? Could I get a copy if you do? If you have an old version of the DDC, it might be in there. As usual, thanks in advance.
