Hey All,

I have been half following this thread and I must have missed it because I
can't believe no one would have mentioned it but... I don't recall seeing it
so I must mention one of my favorite books of all time and the series that
goes with it.

The Sword of Shannara
by Terry Brooks

Very much in the likeness of Hobbit more than Harry but great fantasy
adventure.  Maybe it has not been mentioned because it is not so "deep" as
some of the others but I love it.  There are 7 or 8 in the series now.
Sword of Shannara (3 books)
Heritage of Shannara (4 books)
The First King of Shannara (single prequel to the other books)
Ilse Witch (The first of a new series about Shannara)

He also wrote the book for Star Wars but I haven't read this yet.
