Anyway there are four steps: Defining the topic, Accessing Resources, Consolidating the information, and Transferring the results -- paper, presentation, etc. I usually have the big features on the Board before they arrive. I add tidbits and see students noting what I have provided. We have a very good [finally!] computer lab with 16 stations. In general, I found that it is better to start with print before electronic or Internet resources because too much student time can be wasted if the students are not sure what they want or why. At the end of last year, I did a WordPerfect Presentation for a major Grade 9 science culminating activity. This effort seemed to spark even more purposeful work by the students. > Good luck! Ordering Info, favorite vendors, discounts Library System membership (annual report due dates, library code, ILL information, contacts) Overdue policy and procedure Sample forms (district, building, and my own); blanks and completed ones How students library ID numbers of obtained, and master list Public library contact Recess/door or other duties New student, new class orientation information Scheduling information "How To's" on equipment available to check out, and other library equipment (including copier jams and paper, fax machine, and voice mail on my phone) Name and number of district Tech people Checkout procedure when the computers are "down" Weeding List of subs I like to use (former librarians) List of parent volunteers Budget Information --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
