I am assisting a fifth grade science teacher in setting up a unit on weather, beginning with hurricanes. I have some great web sites, and know of some books (reference and picture). I know there is a book out there, chapter book, that I could read with them -- can't think of the title. Would also like to find out if some large coastal city does kits that they give to schools. My husband grew up in Florida and told me the Miami weather station provided all kinds of materials, including tracking maps. Of course, that was in the dark ages when he was young.... We do a lot of integration in my small school so I'll take any suggestions you have, for any discipline. The art teacher is going to include a lesson on "storm art," and I'm going to put the fifth grade in charge on weather on our TV broadcast, but I need more ideas. Thanks for all and any!
