TARGET: 3 questions

Hi to all,
    I need to know the difference between contemporary fiction and modern
fantasy.  I also need to know an example of each of them or a link.
    I also need to know another thing, I'm quite embarrassed to ask this one.
 Please don't laugh, but I need to settle an argument.  I said that the Hat
in the Cat is not poetry, she said yes it is, please settle this.  Can you
name some elementary poetry too?
