I think I've found it. The poem is probably The Donner Party by George Keithley. Keithley is evidently a professor emeritus at Chico State in CA. I can find single volume copies of the poem (including a first edition offered at $15), but haven't yet found the reference to the magazine issue in which it was published. Original pub date was 1972, which makes this just about certain to be the right one. If you want to purchase the poem, you should be able to get it through amazon.com or some of the other vendors on the net. *_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_* Gayle Hodur Snail Mail: District Librarian Main Street Middle School Soledad Unified School Dist. 441 Main Street Soledad, CA 93960 Soledad, CA 93960 831-678-3923 UnGayle on Instant Messenger > From: Gayle Hodur <ghodur@REDSHIFT.COM> > Reply-To: Gayle Hodur <ghodur@REDSHIFT.COM> > Date: Tue, 2 Jan 2001 12:55:33 -0800 > To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU > Subject: Poem about the Donner Party > > I was talking to my cousin the other day about the Donner Party, and I asked > if he had read that wonderful long epic poem about their journey.
