These directions are for Powerpoint 2000. To insert music into your Powerpoint presentation, choose the slide where you want the music to begin. On the top toolbar click on "Insert". Then choose "Movies and Sound". Now select (in this case) "Sound from File". So far this is what Estelle has done (good job!). Now to get it to continue playing throughout the presentation, on the top tool bar click on "Slide Show". Now select "Custom Animation". Be sure you are still on the slide where you inserted your music file. You should see your music file listed there in the box in the upper left corner as part of the list of objects to animate. Be sure to highlight it and that there is a checkmark in the little box next to it. Now below the list of objects to animate are the settings. Choose the "Multimedia Settings" tab. You will want to check "Play using animation order", "While Playing, Continue Slide Show", and "Stop Playing after --- slides". Insert the number of slides for your show here in order to keep playing throughout the show. If you are using a shorter piece (perhaps from the Powerpoing music clips), by clicking on the "More Options" button you can check "Loop until Stopped". When burning to a CD you will need to include the music file along in the folder. You'll need to be sure that the path (the directory structure) is the same. I don't have a burner here at home to play with, nor have I done this dozens of times, so my information here is a bit more sketchy. It appears to me that I would need to copy the presentation and the sound to my CD-RW, and then do the sound insertion in order to get the path to the sound correct. Perhaps someone with more practice can help out here. I would use the Pack and Go feature available in Powerpoint 2000 to make the presentation playable on any computer.
