Hi All, In September I will be beginning a new assignment as a Library Media Specialist in a suburban/rural 7-8 middle school. My new principal has asked me to collaborate with the 7th grade Language Arts teachers to create a curriculum for literature circles. We will be attending a workshop in August, and I have checked the LM_NET archives so I am beginning to understand how literature circles work. I'd like some more information from any list members who may have experience with this type of activity. What worked or didn't work for you? What is the optimal group size? Do the literature circles meet for the entire school year? How can the Library Media Specialist best facilitate these groups? I will be happy for any ideas, suggestions, advice or encouragement you can give me. Thanks to all in advance.
