Didn't someone suggest to the list that January be National Native = American History Month? It seems like "first people, first month" works = well and would open many doors to studying the current status of Native = Americans rather than strictly focusing on the past. I agree with Patricia that we, as librarians, need to make sure that our = collections are current in regard to Native Americans. If we want to help = change perceptions then we need to weed out the books that promote old = ways of thinking. Susan K. S.
