Last year I did some web research to find out if there was an "official" Native American Month. In our part of Montana we celebrate in September and particularly the fourth Friday. This was designated by the folks in our Indian Education Office, who are tribal members. On the web I found lots of differing months and days--most designated by different states. I could find no reference to any "national" month either by the Federal government or by tribal governments.
