Tech: Help on sound on computer

Suddenly I can't get the sound functions to work. I have a PC, running
WIN95.
Have soundblaster, real juke box on the computer.  I went to control
panel settings and sound is still showing as selections.  I just
verified no loose wires.  Any ideas on what has happened to my sound?
      CD won't play, musical site I have used before won't play.
