I teach in a school in rural North Carolina. Our principal would not let us tell the children. Our internet service was down for most of the day. I don't know if this was our principal's doing or if there was some kind of problem with the server. We were sneaking into the office during our planning periods and lunch break to try and see what was happening. MANY parents came to check their children out early.
