Gen: Candle in Gig Harbor, WA

I'm leaving soon for school with my peace candle and feel more equipped to
face the children having read the many thoughtful messages from this list.
Thank you, Barbara, for the idea of the candle. I was having trouble not
doing or saying something - anything to acknowledge this tragedy. I feel
good about burning a memorial flame - which will also offer our hopes and
prayers for a peaceful world. We are concerned here (Northwest) about
certain innocent groups becoming "hate" victoms.

I am feeling especially priviledged this morning to have the support and
affiliation of a global community of librarians who come together through
this list with a common thread of community - passionate and caring about
the children we all serve.
