I usually work in Queens but yesterday I was at a library professional meeting right across the street from the WTC. I must say it was the scariest day of my life. I thank god that I was with a great group of 10 other NYC librarians and we were able to evacuate and get to safety but the memories of the plane that we saw go into the building and the towers collapse will stay with all of us forever. My school was very worried about my safety and must have called my parent's home 10 times until I was finally able to contact someone and inform them that I was OK. I heard that from the schools windows you were able to view the fire and the towers falling. All I can say thank god I made it home safe but please say prayers for those lives lost and their families.
