GEN: April 2002 Weed of the Month

Good morning LM_NETters!

The April 2002 topic for Weed of the Month is: Disabilities.

Students with special needs are in all our classrooms and media centers
today. Library media collections should provide updated titles that
promote understanding and acceptance of these students.

A brief explanation of Weed of the Month for new LM_NET members: The
SUNLINK Weed of the Month began in September, 1997, from an idea
by Mike Eisenberg co-owner of LM_NET, and as an effort to help provide
Florida's School Library Media Specialists with guidelines and
suggestions for weeding their collections a little at a time as well
as adding quality materials. A section of the collection is
identified each month during the school year (September through May)
as a weeding target.
