I am not sure that I can give you specific examples for which you asked,
but I can tell you that in my daughter's experience of 4 years of
undergraduate and now in her graduate program she was not allowed to even
use the Internet as a source.  In fact, on graduation day we met one of
her professors coming out of the library with a stack of books.  He made
the comment that he was doing some source checking for one of his
underclass classes.  I can't believe that he was alone in doing this.
This really is an ethical problem that it so prevalent among students.
The use of translators, buying papers, and blatant cheating in school is
on the rise among the best of students.  The "cop out" answer is that they
are so pressed for time.
I think we need to make our students aware that they are responsible for
their work. I certainly wouldn't want a surgeon who "faked" his way
through medical school to operate on me!
