Gloria,

I definitely celebrate "TV TURNOFF WEEK"! I work at a middle school
(grades 5-8).
Every day I have in the library I have several activities all week.

Last year this was my schedule:

Monday-PLAY SKIP-BO, COLOR, MAKE AN ORIGAMI FROG AND HAVE A RACE!

Tuesday-PLAY CHESS, MAKE THUMBPRINT PEOPLE, PLAY CARDS AND LEARN
CROSS-STITCH!

Wednesday-PLAY TRIVIAL PURSUIT, PLANT SEEDS, MAKE A BEAD BRACELET AND
PAINT A POSTCARD.

Thursday-LEARN HOW TO PLAY BACKGAMMON, PLAY TWISTER, TRY CALLIGRAPHY AND
NEEDLEPOINT.

Friday-READ A NEW BOOK, PLANT SEEDS, DO A CROSSWORD PUZZLE AND PLAY
SCRABBLE.

Kids loved these activities and it encouraged them to try different things
instead of sitting in front of a TV!

Good luck.
