Dear LM-NET, Even though I am currently set to no-mail (a bit overwhelmed as a first year newbie), I am asking for your opinion. Our district has always given us 5 days for inventory – we are automated with Follett. This year we, so far, have been told we will now have 3 days. Each of our elementary libraries have collections averaging 6500 books. We are appealing this decision to district administration, but would like some ammunition to back it up. So far we are asking for five days again for the following reasons: running statistical reports, putting books in shelf order, cleaning, book repair, plus the actual scanning of fiction, non-fiction, picture book, reference, professional, and non-print collections. I may have left some things out, but these are some of the biggies to us, and as a group are interested in your advice. Please reply to my home e-mail and TIA!!! We are meeting again Wednesday for discussion.
