Well, I'll jump into the fray. No one has mentioned my favorite. But since I am the 'libearian' in the 'libeary' does it make a 'libation's specialist'? Too many announcements in my school are made by professionals telling us to meet in the 'libeary'. I am a Yankee by birth and a southerner now. These are some definitely southern phrases 'to stand on line' and 'to put toys up'(I am not sure how far up the toys will go :) ) Best regards Evelyn Gross ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Allen" <BSAllen@AOL.COM> To: <LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU> Sent: Saturday, April 20, 2002 2:14 PM Subject: Re: Grammar pet peeves > I'm really enjoying this thread and I have a couple of comments.
