Dear Netters, A personal request, please. I am wondering if Iowa, Wisconsin or Illinois offer alternative certification programs for LMSs. I will be completing my MLS from a school-focused program in May. However, due to “real life” circumstances (military family) I’ve had to do things out-of-order and do not have a teaching certificate. I plan to take coursework to complete post-bacc certification but wonder if any of the three states mentioned above allow an LMS to complete certification while working in a school. We’re finally able to get out of the service and anxious to get closer to family (NE Iowa). I’ve had difficulty obtaining information from the state education departments and know that I’ll get great information from you! Thanks for any advice, suggestions or input to my email.
