Here's the Texas library standards website. http://www.tea.state.tx.us/technology/libraries/standards_intro.html For a class I'm in we used it this way: For each of the 33 indicators, the entire indicator must be met to get credit for it. Exemplary =4, Recognized=3, Acceptable=2, Below Standards=1, off the chart=0 Within each of the 5 standards, add all the scores and average them. For the whole program, average the 5 standards scores. You will see very clearly where you need to improve. >>> Lisa Boers <ldboers@YAHOO.COM> 08/02/02 12:47 PM >>> I am currently working on my Masters and have a few questions. If anyone has any information on any or all of these topics, I'd greatly aprreciate it. 1. I am looking for evaluations of library media center programs. I have found plenty that evaluate the media specialist, but only a few that evaluate the entire program. If anyone knows of some good ones or where I could find them, please let me know. 2. I am also researching using digital video. I am currently practicuming at a REMC which is looking at digitizing video so that they can directly send it to teachers' computers. I'd like any resources and comments from anyone already using this technology. 3. I was also just wondering if there is a condensed version/list of the Information Power Media Specialist Competencies. Thanks for your help! L. Boers Teacher SS.
