Hi, Librarians and Poetry Readers, I just browsed a web site that was sent to me by RefDesk Link of the Day. http://www.loc.gov/poetry/180/ ~~Poems for American high school students online introduced by Billy Collins, Poet Laureate of the U.S. The site has a selection of 180 poems for each of the days in a school year. The site is through Library of Congress. This first one I read is really good, by Billy Collins, about what "some" of us do when teaching poetry. BUT..... THE THIRD ONE ---- If you grew up in the 50's or 60's you've GOT to read the third (003) poem included in this site (link is below) http://www.loc.gov/poetry/180/003.html Saranne at home until Aug. 19!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Saranne Gans, Director of Library Services Cistercian Preparatory School (345 boys, grades 5-12) Irving, TX (Dallas area) email: sgans@cistercian.org web site: http://cistercian.org - Click on school, then library ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us." ~Franz Kafka I've just finished reading HIGH WATER by Lynn Hightower and FIRESTORM by Navada Barr. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
