I will be the LMS for two elementary schools this fall. One of the schools contains both the district EMH and ESL programs. All special education students are mainstreamed into the Library with their appropriate age level. They also have an additional time that they come as a group. My problem is, when I have a lesson or skill for the regular class, it is often too difficult for my sped ed kids. I have provided other materials, but many do not want to "look" different, so they want the regular worksheet. I would like to give them the extra attention they need to accomplish the task, but with 25 + other students, it isn't always possible. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions how to make my special kids feel more a part of the class? I hate to see them struggle, but I don't want them to feel embarrassed. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks! Barbara Bollinger, LMS (in training!)
