I have made a few more corrections in an effort to represent accurately the status of state funded databases in all 50 states. My latest version of the information shows only seven states with no such funding: Illinois, Oregon and Texas whose funds were discontinued in the last year, and the following states that never had it: California, Colorado, Florida, and Rhode Island. The chart I prepared also lists some of the databases provided by each state. In many cases, I did not list all databases in the interest of space, but rather selected a couple of well known resources and then added the word "others" to indicate there were more. If I did not reflect this in a way that you would prefer, please notify me. The chart can be reviewed at this location: http://www.shsu.edu/~lis_mah/documents/wheretlc03/dbsinstates.html I would be very grateful for any feedback! I ended up visiting almost every state web site. Many state web addresses are not shown yet, but I do have them--just need to put them in tomorrow when I am on campus to revise the chart. What I am wanting help with is input about the resources I listed for each state. It was interesting to visit all the sites, many with names for their resources that reflect the state's heritage, such as SLED in Alaska and MAGNOLIA in Mississippi. I am glad that so many schools and students have these resources, and saddened by the loss of equity and access in those states without. This has been an interesting project! Thanks so much to everyone for input.--Mary Ann -- *************************** "Try curiosity!"
