I teach a special ed class of 4-5-6th graders. There are 10 students with varying reading abilities. I have a set of author biographies that I would like to use with them. My idea is to have the students read a book at their level (some easy books by Jane Yolen, Patricia Polacco, Cynthia Rylant, Jonathan London, and Verna Aardema. Some nonfiction - Jonathan London & Seymour Simon. Some older fiction - Johanna Hurwitz & Joseph Bruchac. My idea is to have the students read one of their books and answer various questions about them. Does anyone have any lesson plan or website they could share? thanks.
