This morning on NPR they discussed "laziness" and contemplation. Growing up where I did, there was no individualization of education so I spent many hours contemplating ancient pictures on the walls, how clocks work and various objects out the window. I would like to hang various interesting items for my students to contemplate in the library. Suggestions? I have been thinking bicycle tire, kite, weird shapes of metals, Japanese fans, sparkly things. I'd like to have something that opens a child's mind to inquiry. Diane R.
