I have been asked to produce a professional portfolio (a paper one) as =
part of my assessment. I need to show some progress that it has been =
begun at a meeting this month, and it would be completed next year. =
Well, I have been thinking about this (so I guess it is begun!), but I =
don't have anything to show but a loose-leaf notebook and some dividers. =
Teachers were shown examples--but I have never seen an example for a =
librarian. I do think that a school librarian would have a different =
sort of portfolio. Have any of you ever done one of these? As a =
beginning, what sorts of categories should be on the dividers? I've =
thought of things such as examples of projects that my students have =
done, my resume, a floorplan for the library I designed, copies of =
communications with staff, and parents. I must admit that I feel that =
this is a busywork project and would much rather be spending my time =
creating a new learning activity to be used with my students; however, I =
have no choice here. I am feeling overwhelmed. Words of advice would be =
greatly appreciated!!
